At home

Well, we're here. All of us, back together after a long month. Lucas is settling into his new digs, finding his own here with us and his big sister. He is still fairly high maintenance, making sure he is eating adequately, and taking his medicines. His big sister is taking his presence in stride and is just pleased that mom and dad are back home and not rushing to the hospital all the time, and Grammie is such the blessing with taking care of everything for us as we learn to be parents to a newborn with needs.

Christmas was great; big sister likes to admire all the presents she receive, and was thrilled to open Lucas's gifts too. She's getting good at riping open presents now. Opening presents actually took two days!

Thank you all who sent us all your support, gifts, and yummy baked goods! We really appreciate all you have done for us through this whole trying time. We are overwhelmed with your generous hearts and faith. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We still have a series of follow up appointments for Lucas. The main ones will be to monitor his weight gain and his liver. Starting tomorrow, we will have almost weekly appointments. We still don't know what's wrong with his liver, but will hope to have answers soon. He's almost a normal newborn, albeit a little yellow-green from the conjugated bilirubin.

Here are some images from our Christmas day:
